Homeland security suggests Real ID may be necessary for people to get prescriptions

I've printed the article below. Imagine, we have to bow to another
version of "Invade the Privacy" or we can't fly or even have medication!

In a select number of states, Maine, New Hampshire, Montana, So.
Carolina & California, they are either refusing to comply or asked for
extensions, in hopes that by the time their extensions role around in
2010, DHS will be a defunct agency...but DHS says they WILL keep ppl
without Real ID's out of airplanes and refuse them medication.
Personally, Im GLAD that California and others are not going to
cooperate-*yet*-but what will the golden number of dead ppl be before
either DHS backs down or these states give in?

It sounds like enough for a state the size of CA to secede rather than
let the feds kill its citizens in a fit of rage (much like The Shrub
throws when someone questions his role as "the Decider")

This is scary stuff.

Dear LC,

OMG !! This is like 1984 Orwell stuff. Land of the Watched and Home of the
Compliant. This country is turning in to a 21st century USSR. WTF does
medication that you take have to do with homeland security? They should cut
to the chase, put the cameras in everybody's bedroom, and stop threatening
with the other shoe to fall. I have never seen this country further away for
the ideas it was built upon. It makes me sorry for the next generation, and
I hope I'm long dead before we complete the transition to the worst
socialism and communism has to offer.
If they want to control OTC cough and cold medications, they only need to
undo their OTC status. This REAL ID bullshit is just an excuse for intrusion
in to personal matters.

Pick me a country to go live in. This place is screwed--og

No shit...and things just seem to be getting worse! The idea that money
is being sent on this rather than minor things like LEVEES & BRIDGES
just astounds me:

Dear ZW,

I don't see any problem with pharmacies asking for ID to be sure they give
the right (hopefully) med to the right guy. It's the collection and
collation of all this data going to some federal agency...
