Is there anyone out there in Cronic Pain Land who has experience with
origional MS-contin and the generics from WAT and Sa Pur? The question
being, is the brand named one worth the difference in price? I, personally,
don't believe I've ever had the branded one.

While I can't answer your question specifically, I will say that I
have experienced better results with Watson Generics in many different
types of medications. There are numerous drugs that Watson simply
redistributes after buying brand name from the original patent holder.

Thanks ZW, you've answered my question... I had been on the Watson one for a
long time and CVS switched to the SA Pur one. I thought there was less
effectiveness but couldn't quantify it.

It probably has to do with the way it dissolves...

I get MS Contin every month and I have had 2 different types of generics.
Both come as Morphine Sulfate. 1 is from ENDO and the other is from
Mallinkrt Parm. The ones from Mall are very small and easy to loose and are
not as good as the ones from ENDO. I know the cost for my MS Contin is over
$900 so I can't imagine what the cost would be for the non-generic. I have
had better experience with Watson one some other type of meds so I would say
they are better. But the only way to know is if you try both in my opinion.
Also your listing of Sa Pur is actually from Purdue and is MS Contin and
Watson, EDCO, and Mall are listed as Morphine sulfate.

That's very interesting... I looked closer at the bottle (with a magnifing
glass) and the manufacturer of the PUR one is ETHEX Corp... Having never had
the branded one, I'm not sure how well it's suopposed to work. I do know,
however, I don't get the relief as well as with the Watson one. I did look
up the Purdue Branded one and it doesn't look the same as the PUR one... But
that doesn't mean anything...
