Hey all,
Once again a big deal comes up before congress and our "big advocates" give
us no notice at all for an organized effort. Like it's news to them
suddenly. But I'm asking you to get the word out to anyone and everyone you
know that has been protected or served by someone in the Armed services
(that should cover everyone, painer or not), do something. If they let these
guys down just imagine what they have in store for us...

Hey,
I knew that link wouldn't come across. Just go to the APF to contact the
government, though how they're squeezing in such important legislation with
the distraction of electing all their pals... I guess they're used to it
since it's a constant condition of being reelected before doing anything
worthwhile.
But lets try anyway--og

Hello Mr OldGoat. I am not a frequent poster, but I have been a regualar
reader for a couple years now. I have to say that nine times out of ten
your thoughts are right on.
This time though, I must speak up. I often find myself concluding that
veterans deserve extra care and special treatment from our government. But
not in the case of pain treatment. We all deserve equal consideration when
it comes to chronic pain.

Dear Kathy,
I couldn't agree more. Pain is pain whatever it is from and whoever it
happens to. But it's a matter of exposure of the problem. They think that 75
million in chronic pain out of a roughly 300 million...

OG,
your message would have been so much more effective if you did not add the
word "oil" to the word "war"
Although I did send the letters to my senators, I took offense to the
adjective you used,
All I know for sure, is that while we are fighting them in the gulf region
there has not been one successful attack on the homeland.
The soldiers I have spoke with have never used that term oil war while I
spoke with them

There isn't a single serving or ex-serving Military member who hasn't
been let down in one way or another. Broken promises & lies are
actually an accept fact for most of them, even though it is
unacceptable.

They don't "deserve" any extra care and/or special treatment from the
Government. We just want what was promised by their mouth and
delivered by our asses.
You have absolutely no idea how Opiate-phobic military/veterans
Doctors are. They have an expectation for you to lie through a
colonoscopy without any medication at all. Grin & bear it. Broken
arm, bullet in the head -- here is some Motrin.

Of course you are right Mark. It is an offensive term that
immediately kills the creditability of the person using it, regardless
of if it might be true or not.
Although personally I don't like the term "Homeland" as it is to Nazi
Germanyish.
Perhaps the war was/is about Oil, perhaps it is about other things as
well. Our Nation's willingness to be a compliant Rape victim during
that past Administration is probably what let to more & more brazen...

Dear Blinded, (I try and make it a point not to use real names, it usually
only leads to trouble, so please don't feel I am being rude or anything.)
Sorry you feel that way and perhaps it was out of line to use that phrase.
But if there has not been a terrorist attack on the US since 9/11, when was
the last time you filled your gas tank? This was...
