I saw the rheumatologist this morning. I have been in a somewhat permanent
flare since the chemotherapy stopped last August. I was supposed to have
seen the RD in April, but had strep throat and was rescheduled to today.
Anyway, he did the usual poke and prod and squeeze thing and then said we
needed to up the ante. Since I've been on methotrexate, plaquenil,
prednisone and trammodol for years, he decided it was time for a biologic.
He decided on Rituxin because it's supposed to last 6 months to a year
between infusions and his patients have done well on it. So, as soon as they
get the okay from our insurance company, I will be going to the Ohio State
University campus to the arthritis studies building and will receive the
first infusion, then the second one two weeks later. I'm looking...
