I am Male, 62 with fairly severe Osteo Arthritis in both my hips.
I have no other medical conditions (fingers crossed.)
I have been on the usual Meds....Diclofenic 150 mg per day..some
Paracetamol.

Two months ago I started to take Gluocosimine at the recommended 1500 Mg per
every day tabs.
Just basic gluocosimine ..not including any other substance.

Now, I am used to having to get up to go to the toilet once most nights .
But recently I have found I needed to Pee
2 or 3 times per every night...Also I became aware of a dry mouth feeling .

  My Uncle Died of That

Cancer specific with good points for any disease

My Uncle Died of That
By Sandra Winicur

My good friend Kay, the most empathetic person I know, wrinkled her
face with sympathy when I told her I had cancer.

"Multiple myeloma?" she asked. "Isn't that the one with black skin
moles?"

"No," I said. "Myeloma affects bone marrow."

"Kay," her husband said softly, "didn't your uncle have multiple
myeloma?"

Kay turned back to me, her face again a mask of pity. "That's
right," she said. "My uncle died of that. It was terrible."

thanks for advice re: knee replacement!

Well, I seem to be off to a good start today - went to the gym and
worked the quads (ok, tummy too but that's a different story), weeded
for hours (but then sat to enjoy the result), then enjoyed a good book
on food production along with a glass of wine.

Thanks to all for info on preparing for knee surgery - of course, I
keep thinking I might not need it but....will take all advice to
heart.

  Bed Wedge

Author: Aim

I know that some of you have mentioned before that you have adjustable
beds and whatnot.

Well, on the advice of my new RD, we were to raise the head of our bed
4-5". Unfortunately, we have a platform bed that attaches to a bookcase
headboard. In other words, putting a phone book under the top of the bed
was not going to work.

So we got creative, and found these firm foam wedges:

Two of them under the mattress at the head of the bed seems to do the
trick. It leaves our legs flat but whole upper body on a slanted
surface. It's actually quite comfortable, and I've been sleeping well as
a result. I am a fan so far.

Just thought I'd share, for those who also need to raise their upper
body but can't afford to just go buy a whole new bed (or recliner!)

Love to all,

Aim

ps... found a wedding location! November 1 is now set in stone!
