In California, you can use any name you want without going
to court for a name change, as long it is not to defraud.

I use a different name on my voter registration. Then if
I receive a car dealer's ad addressed to that name, I know
it was illegally obtained from the Registaar of Voters.

I receive magazines in different names, or variation of
the true name. Then if I'm bombarded with junk mail from
other companies, I know who sold my name and address.

I learned many, many years ago that the San Diego Zoo
purchased a mailing list from Playboy subscribers.

We have at least 4 ASA members in Oregon, and several in
Washington (you didn't mention how close to the states'
border she'll be). I'm sure 1 or more would be able to
"mother" your baby if she develops homesickness.

Ann, are you old enough to remember "curb feelers?"

We installed vertical poles on each side of the bumper of
emergency vehicles so drivers could judge how close they
were to an object in front of them.

They're kinda like the flag pole you see on the president's
limo, but without the flags.

Harv, you immediately came to mind when I read this. I believe
there are 2 or 3 others (lurking lately) who are from The Lone Star
State.

Gwen, I received the 2008 birthday list, but I'm unable to return it to
you. ALL mail addressed to you bounces.

Thanks :) I was in the process of sending out my announcement when my
computer decided it was sick. I've got it back now, so I can let
everyone else know :)

I love my new name too! :-)))

Dear Friends,

I just received the date that my daughter goes to Art school-Oct 1. I
know that this is later than most graduating seniors but I can't help
but feel an AARgh!

I'm losing my baby!

She was accepted into her choice for art schools while she was still
in 10th grade. But the school starts four times a year and she was
assigned to Oct of this year.

This will be in Oregon or 2500 miles away! I know she has lots of
family near and that has to count for something!

I'm happy for her!

Thanks for listening,

Vickie B.
