Of course. That's a common method of reducing/preventing increased anxiety
whilst weaning onto an AD.
I read your reply to Elise about your visit to the doctor. He sounds
reasonable, i.e., non-benzophobic, for a GP. Why not experiment with your
Xanax dosage until you find the level and frequency that makes you more
comfortable? BTW, I had the same wake-up anxiety problem that you
mentioned and attributed it to the short-duration of Xanax; so now I take
Klonopin twice a day. Very rare to have a rebound. If you continue to
feel rebound anxiety when your Xanax wears off, you might ask your doctor
if you could try Xanax XR or Klonopin.

Crying is good for you. It releases the endorphins in your body. Also
helps relieve some of pain. Don't you always feel better after a good
cry? I do. All AD's don't suit all people. Ask Doc for a new one. Audrey

Back from appt.
Doc gave me a hip shot for migraines. Tired now.
He said I was being extremely stingy with my Xanax and promised he
would not stop prescribing if I used more now than I used to.

I can also suggest that maybe Eve was responsible for leading Adam to
the tree of knowledge, which God forbade them to do. Because of this,
our bodies are riddled with genetic defects, and just too fragile. We
would have lived long lives and be strong bodywise and mindwise, but God
punished his children. And there are no signs that things will ever
change. Boy, will I be punished for writing this. Probably will get
pancreatic cancer next week. My arms are too short to box with God
(movie title).

If God wants us to suffer and be in pain for most of our lives, then God
is not a merciful, kind God, and if my punishment is going to hell for
not 'cooperating' with his wishes, then open the doors to hell. I will
gladly go there and get far away as possible from this type of God who
wishes us pain. Hell,,,,it may even be more fun there than in heaven
anyways. I am a Christian, and if God will punish me for what I just
wrote, then so be it. Maybe God should be punished for once. See how
he feels. The Old Testament is loaded with God's anger and being very
mean. At least Jesus was a kind being...but God made Jesus suffer in
horrible pain. And for what? Is God a sadist? Hell can't be any worse
than right here on earth. Some even say that we are in hell right now
and don't know it...

I had a sudden onset of insomnia a week ago and it was bad enough that
I could literally lay wake all night without some sort of drugs. This
was completely out of the blue. I got prescribed Ambien at a walk-in
clinic, and it would put me to sleep but I'd be back up in 4-5 hours.
The insomnia has been accompanied by anxiety, but not debilitating. I
could get by with it if I could sleep, though life wouldn't be much fun.
So I went to a real doctor finally and he prescribed Klonopin 0.5 mg.
I'm supposed to start with one in the evening and then maybe add one in
the morning if needed and if I'm tolerating it. I've taken it one
night so far and it didn't seem to do much except make me a little
drowsy, and not really enough to combat the insomnia.

I noticed that when i was on moodstabilisers i had a lot of anxiety all the
time. There was a constant feeling that my mood was not good ENOUGH. I
always had that feeling
that i have to take some drug to change my mood.
Now that my mood is not stable at all, i have much less
anxiety and life is more interesting when the mood
changes all the time. When i was on mood stabilisers
i was also not as interested in my mood and sometimes
i decided to stay in bed all day.
