No, as a commander, like the Betazoid in the pilot episode.
Hoshi Sato started out on Enterprise as a character with Betazoid
characteristics, but unfortunately the writers ruined her character--at
least in the first season (I didn't watch after the first season of
Enterprise).

Deanna was in a good TNG episode where she took control of the
Enterprise after a major malfunction. I think it's on the SciFi channel
on Monday.
She was also in a good TNG episode where she, O'Brien, and Data were
possessed by the spirits of convicts.
