Star Trek animated - Slaver Weapon - the Slavers themselves

Has anything been written on the actual slavers (not the Kzinti
created by Larry Niven)? They showed a photo of one in the animated
shows. I mean were the slavers also taken from Niven's works?

Yes. The Thrintun come up in a number of Niven tales, and we actually
meet one who's released from a stasis field after billions of years in
_World of Ptaavs_.

Oh, absolutely.

The Slavers were first introduced in Niven's 1965 novel "World of Ptavvs."

5th yes in a row. "The Slaver Weapon" is actually just a recasting of
Nivens Short "The Soft Weapon" so I guess we can assume the backstory is
similar.
