If you completely and totally ignore Star Wars, perhaps. Which
would be awfully stupid, given it is as iconic as Trek, perhaps
more so.

You claim Star Trek was "believable"? OK, you're either a troll, or

For them what can actually read, and do, there are hundreds of
other books with universes *far* more believable than Trek or Star
Wars, both of which were science fantasy, not science fiction.
