Well, I don't know that I'd call it that, but I call it unfortunate. If I
hadn't taken a chance on some things I thought would be disasters, I would
have missed out on a lot of entertainment. Back when the "George Of The
Jungle" movie came out, I took my (then minor) children to see it. I was
prepared to yawn/sleep my way through a really stupid movie. Instead, it
was hilarious, and I ended up buying it on DVD. It's one of my favorite
movies, yet if my kids hadn't dragged me to it, I'd have missed it. That's
all I'm saying; you may cheat *yourself* out of a good time, by dismissing
an unknown entity out-of-hand. One of the few things with which I agree
with my mother on, is that if you shut yourself off to something merely by
what you *think* it will be like, you'll only rob yourself of an often great
experience. If it turns out you don't like it, so what? There are still
many more types of entertainment to explore. My iPod's over 9,000 songs, has
every genre of music you can think of (yes, even country and classical).
I'm so glad my mom instilled that spirit of keeping an open mind to *all*
forms of art.
