In the Stockade with Finnegan

After seeing the great Shore Leave episode again, I wonder what sort
of character Finnegan would make in the new Abrams version of Star
Trek.

Or, are we now supposed to believe that Finnegan never existed at all?

Let's pray he never did. Gawd, that guy was annoying.

We could believe that he existed, but that he wasn't around during the
events of the movie.

I expect that if he *were* to be in a movie made today, they would get
someone like Jim Carrey to play him. Thus, I hope your prayers will be
heeded.

We were seeing him through Kirk's own subjective recollection of him.
