Humnmer H2 ad?

Has anyone else seen this?

I had SNL on and the TOS theme caught my attention, or at least a 30
second version of it sans Shatner's VO just ran. It was for a commercial
with a pull-back off a windshield of snow in the dark at night coming at
he windshield from the point of view inside so the snow looked like
oncoming stars. It pulled back to show the interior and then went to an
outside shot and the Hummer H2 going to 'warp' speed. Tag "Boldly Go. H2"

Has Paramount NO SHAME?

I was eating at a Chevy's restaurant last week, talking to friends and
totally ignoring the TV on the wall. All of a sudden, TOS theme comes on,
and I immediately looked up and it was that Hummer commercial. As you said,
if you're a Trek fan it definitely catches your attention, and you remember
it.

A terrible sell-out, but undeniably a very effective one. The advertiser
achieved exactly what they wanted by using the Trek music.

As a lifelong TOS Trekkie, I must say: I noticed it just long enough to
deplore it.

I retched!

I will NOT be buying a GOD DAMNED Abomination Hummer, EVER, no matter
how they tart it up.

My fantasy of a TOS-worthy auto is a sexy-looking, energy-efficient hybrid.

Any nation that maintains an armed force has made the decision that it may
use said force to kill it's enemies, that is the only reason to have said
force, to think other wise is delusional.

no... the one who directs or allows them to be used for unjust reasons.

Considering that various songs that were once considered the anthem
of my generation, such as "Revolution," "The Times They Are A-Changin,"
etc., have become fodder for commercials, I'd have to say that the
recycling of a TV theme whose composer never intended to carry any
particular message or meaning ranks pretty low on my artistic outrage
scale.
