Golly gee? I once heard him say, "Jiminy Crickets!"
Ya don't suppose the 'JC' initials might have been a euphemism for 'Jesus
Christ', do ya?

I can't imagine pitching a game stoned on acid. That's gotta be the
hands-down no-arguments best LSD story ever.
I wonder if video of it is anywhere. I can't believe he didn't giggle at all
during the game. Or that no-one in the dugout picked up on something while
the Pirates were batting.

Not sure how I missed this post, but it gave me a pretty good chuckle.
You certainly are a hypocritical little sheeple, aren't you?

I didn't. He annoyed the hell out of me, but he definitely knew (knows -
surprisingly enough) his shit.

What a douchbag Boucher is. He leaked he was offered the job
to pump up his profile and shop hiimself around, then turned it
down. Nice guy, diminish the achievement of the guy who will
get the job. Oh, he was just the second choice.
Lou Lamoriello used to tell prospective hires, if word gets out
you're on the list, you're off the list. I imagine all GMs say something
similar.
Burkie said the same thing with respect to players who, for whatever
reason, asked to be moved. He'd move them, but if word ever leaked
out they asked to be dealt, no chance, they could spend the rest of
their contract in the minors or press box.
Good luck to Arniel, he's going to need it. Columbus has money probs,
and needs to make the playoffs. They'll operate at close to the floor,
so it will be tough.

Yep, big thanks to your pa, Jim, and the countless many brave men who
fought. Watched Private Ryan again last night. The one timid soldier
in Hanks' crew summed up what many today might feel like in battle.
The last great generation....
