  End of the series Saturday?

Author: Electrician

Unbelievably the Stars managed to pull a win out last night so us long
suffering sports fans in Dallas have to continue to hear and read about the
imitation 'sport' of 'hockey', Please lose Stars. Let the series end and
thereby end our pain. We can't bear much more of this. Only four more months
until a real sport starts.

  End of the series tonight?

Dang, how many darn games do they play in a playoff series in that retard
league? I'm tired of the Dallas Morning News wasting space in the paper
covering covering a sport no one watches and especially a team that people
care even less about. Get it over with already. Network TV wouldn't give that
league of losers a contract and the paper shouldn't cover the lame excuse for
a sport either.

The league just confirmed.

There are some fines involved, but both Ribeiro and Osgood are good to go
for Game 3.

That's important for the Stars, particularly if Lehtinen is hurt and can't
play.

Ribeiro was quite feisty today, so it will be interesting if he transfers
that energy to the ice.

Stars coach Dave Tippett said his team cannot afford to allow what happened
in Game 2 affect its play in Game 3. He said the Stars have to walk a fine
line between intensity and discipline.

``This is really no different than the first two series,'' Tippett said.
``We have to play hard, but we have to play smart. That's exactly what we
did against Anhaim and San Jose, and it's what we try to do every game. We
are going to push hard and skate hard and try to control the pace, but we
have to stay disciplined and not put them on the power play. That's just
smart hockey.''

Both should be suspended for game 3. Osgood, for sticking the butt of his
stick in Ribeiro's chest while Ribeiro was skating full skate after the
buzzer, and Riberiro for retaliating with his stick.

  What the hell was that?

I rarely cross-post, but here goes...

SJ fan, now as a former Michigan resident I am rooting for the Wings,
BUT...

WTF? I mean really, WTF was that?!

The Sharks just survived (well didn't survive) 2 rounds of rock-em-
sock-em knock-out hockey. The Sharks got the stuffing knocked out of
them on a regular basis. All the typical suspects banged our guys, but
Morrow in particular played in a way that would have drawn a call on
nearly every one of his shifts had it been in the regular season.

But I was fine with it. I really was. I like tough hockey. I didn't
complain. But then I watched last night's game. The refs sent a very
loud and clear signal that virtually any thing will called when done
to the Wings. The 5-on-3 call was absurd. There was stuff like that
every other minute in the Stars/Sharks series.

Right now the Stars are being penalized at well over a 2 to 1 ratio in
terms of minutes per period versus the Sharks series.

I mean is a little consistency too much to ask for?

  Detroit is a dominant team...

Sharks should probably be glad they aren't in this predicament...
Stars showing definite signs of fatigue, and are simply being over powered
by a more dominant team.

Detroit is everywhere... even during powerplays for the Stars it feels as if
Detroit has 5 guys on the ice.

They (Stars) will have to take this to seven if they stand a chance.

Stars are eating calamari right now.
