OT Tim Brown- "You just can't run that offense in the NFL anymore"

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports former Oakland Raiders WR
Tim Brown commented on the offense being run by Raiders offensive
coordinator Tom Walsh. Brown said, "You just can't run that offense in
the NFL anymore. They're calling timeouts, spending most of their
timeouts before 10 minutes is up in the second quarter. They're getting
delay penalties, getting to the line of scrimmage late, because those
plays are 20 words long. I know that it was a horrible offense way back
when. We just had to make plays and make things happen way back when.
Being that the 40-second clock has come into play, and a lot of other
rules have come into play since he was (last) in the league, I knew
that would be a tough adjustment for him. Even zone blitzes and things
of that nature. That makes that offense...

NS, your paragraph makes my day it should be posted over at
'alt.sports...Oak-Raiders.' Check this story out from todays Santa Rosa
press Democrat (The Raiders are not only this year's biggest pussies
they are also this years biggest Drama Queens):

Raiders need to try something radical
Like a gunslinger LaMont Jordan "called out" the Raiders' offense
Wednesday. Step into the street. Stop hiding behind buildings. Be a
man, which is funny considering, anatomically, the players already
appear to be so and seem comfortable with that decision. Of course some
of these guys could undergo a radical operation and become skilled,
productive football players. Even such a radical surgery, however,
could not save everyone, like tackle Robert Gallery.

Nonetheless Jordan the running back became Jordan the orator, stumping
for machismo, challenging the testosterone level of his teammates.
Don't wimp out like you did against the Chargers and the Ravens. Get
angry! Someone hits you and breaks your nose, you hit 'em back and
break his face!

It's like Jordan unlocked a deeply-protected NFL secret, something only
a select few know.

Great article Skeptic...I needed a good laugh. Looking forward to
seeing the meltdown on the other side of the bay around week 8.

It must be frustrating to be an Oakland Raiders fan Dan. The players
quit almost ever year on their team mates, coach, owner and fans,
usually by Halloween. Even when the 49ers were so talent starved last
year they still played hard for Nolan. I'm tempted to get my VCR
rolling for Sunday's Raiders game, their funny out of date scheme and
laying down for opponents is so delicious.

What the heck are you guys so happy about? Being the best team in the
Bay Area is like being the fastest horse at the dog food factory.

Yeah, I switched similes.
