I am very much looking forward to "Flags of our Fathers" since I recently
read the book. An excellent book that I highly recommend.

Yes, saw the trailer and and have that one on my list of movies to see. I
did of course see the original and my girls love horses. We recently rented
"The Dreamer" or whatever the title was, I am trying to forget that lame
movie. Same theme Girl+Horse=win the race, with Dakota Fanning and Kurt
Russell. Don't bother.

Here is my diamond in the rough. Beowulf and Grendel, I rented it because
my kids absolutely loved the musical "Phantom of the Opera" starring the
Scottish actor Gerard Butler as the Phantom. Butler plays Beowulf in this
movie. It is very obviously the story of the Norse hero Beowulf and the
Danish monster Grendel. A low budget film starring mostly unknown northern
European actors. Beautiful scenery filmed in Iceland. I am a big fan of
the Beowful and Grendel story. Michael Chriton's book "Eaters of the Dead"
is well worth the read and the movie "The 13th warrior" is based on his
book. Beowulf and Grendel is based more so on the actual Norse prose.

If you like Gerard Butler check him out in the Scottish independent film
"Dear Frankie" or the schlocky "Reign of Fire".
