There are too many good new movies to go see right now: The Prestige,
The Queen, Flags of our Fathers, Marie Antoinette, Jackass Number 2
(ok, maybe that's not one of them)... Anyway, you gotta start
somewhere, so I saw a couple this week, and here's a brief review.
"Flicka" - all you fathers with daughters should take them to see
this. I brought Mia (my 9-year-old), and she enjoyed it immensely.
The nice part was that I wasn't expecting much for myself, but ended...

Strangely, I don't see a compelling one in the bunch.
Guess I'm sour on the whole movie thing these days. Only
so much abuse by Hollywood that I can take. Trailers giving
the whole plot away, Ads before and during films, regurgitated
rehashes of plots. Same old "stars", different vehicle. :P

i have to agree on the Departed, a very very good movie. even Jackass
is a good movie if all you want is mindless entertainment for a few
hours

Bad, agreed.

Worse. I've complained openly about this. I paid to see the movie;
how can you throw ads on top of that? I doubt it will change.

I am very much looking forward to "Flags of our Fathers" since I recently
read the book. An excellent book that I highly recommend.

Yes, saw the trailer and and have that one on my list of movies to see. I
did of course see the original and my girls love horses. We recently rented
"The Dreamer" or whatever the title was, I am trying to forget that lame
movie. Same theme Girl+Horse=win the race, with Dakota Fanning and Kurt
Russell. Don't bother.
