I'll top-post so as to avoid the mess. Both teams are 7-4 (not 7-3).
Oddly enough, while Denver went from 7-3 to 7-4, Seattle went from 6-4 to
7-4...so I don't think the error was due to the report being written before
the results of Thanksgiving were known.
No point in checking the stats to see if they are for 11 games...neither
Hasselbeck (second game back from 4 week injury haitus) nor Cutler (first
regulation NFL start) has anything reliable.
Similarly, considering Tatum Bell will be back and this is Shaun's 3rd
game back, both running games will most likely show elements of the
unpredictable. Shaun may have been seen more recently, but with 37 yards in
San Francisco and 201 against Green Bay, who can tell which RB will show?
Tatupu & Hill both seem to be enduring a Sophomore Slump against their
will. A pick-up on the offensive side of the ball may be the solution for
this, though. Through Hass' & Shaun's injury-missed weeks, TOP for Seattle
has never gotten to, let alone over, the 30:00 mark. That changed Monday
night, so it will be interesting to see whether this is an actual change in
trend or just an anomaly.
The corollary results of the change in TOP seem to help the defense.
The Seahawks did not give up the big plays as often, probably due to a
combination of less time on the field and a different offensive scheme by
the opponent when not securely in the lead. The 49ers ran because they
could, the Packers either didn't feel they could or just wanted to go with
Favre's arm over anyone's legs.
Now, having said all this, the game will most likely end up a 6-3
yawn-fest ;)
