some uncertainty

I guess it's true that these days in the NFL it is anyone's guess as to
how a team will perform from one year to the next. One season you're
up and then the next you're down or vice versa. I look to 2007 with
trepidation much like I do most Chargers seasons but especially coming
off a year where the team finished in such disappointing fashion.
Typically I'd look forward to a team as good as the Chargers to be
focused on redeeming itself and playing with a chip on it's shoulder.
But with all of the completed and pending coaching changes, we could be
looking at some significant disruptions. I trust AJ's player moves and
I trust Marty to put good coaches in place but this off season will be
challenging for the team to maintain it's level of competitiveness.
Let's hope that 2007 finds the Chargers...

It sounds like AJ wants to sign Dielman and offer Turner a 1st and 3rd
round tender with the hope of another team signing him away for the 2
draft picks. The article doesn't have any details of Phillips'
negotiations but I think he will get a new contract.

I think Kiel, McCardell, Foley and Edwards (no big surprise on Edwards)
are gone. I'm not sure about Floyd. He showed talent but is he worth a
lot of $$ considering a tall receiver is redundant since Gates and VJ
take care of that?

Just like being too slim or too rich, I don't think you can have too
many tall receivers. They still must be ablt to catch & run routes,
but Floyd has shown those abilities. IMO, he's worth hanging on to for
at least another year. TJMOICBW.

What we're seeing is almost a total defection of our coaching staff to
other teams. You may "trust" Marty but I don't. He's proved he can't win
a playoff game no matter what-so what's the point of keeping him around?
I say we decimate the entire staff left and find a new young hire which
is the current trend. Might as well do it now as it's going to have to
be done after next season for sure. The talent level the team has
especially with LT is far too good to have the shameful playoff
performance we all saw. It's only happened to Marty coached teams what 9
times? One and Done!
