Wow, everytime I think that I am out, you pull me back in. For all his
showboat antics, Deion was a good team player who actually toned down
his act compared to his rookie year. To my best recollection he, or
any other Patriot, ever blamed the other team after a defeat.
This is football not tennis, it is a game that is violent and
emotional. Sometimes this brings out the worst in people during the
heat of the battle and like all walks of life some of the participants
aren't the nicest of people. Since Bob Kraft has owned the team we have
made bringing quality team players a priority. I can't think of a
single situation where a player has been shot by the police.
I digress, my issue isn't the fact that Merriman is a clown or even
that Lablameian had a hissey fit right after the game, it is fact that
he (and others) continued to whine and point fingers the next day after
he had a chance to reconsider his statements. I hate to break the news
to you, but until the leaders of your team take responsibility for the
results on the field and not complain about how their opponents
celebrate victory, they are destined to squander their talent. Nice
choice on your head coach BTW, see you in Foxboro next year.
