Fresh from CBS Sportsline:

News: After the Chargers surprised the Bengals after being down 21
points in the first half, it's time for an AFC West showdown at Denver,
where the Chargers hardly ever win. Perhaps one reason why is because RB
LaDainian Tomlinson hasn't played particularly well in Denver. He's
never had a 100-yard game in five visits to Denver, and his top
performance was 75 yards as a rookie in 2001. Not surprisingly, the
Chargers lost all five times. "That has been the biggest factor,"
Tomlinson said. "They've taken me out of the game early, pretty much.
Hopefully this time is different."

Yeah...*hopefully*.

in last year's game, the Chargers were doing pretty well until Champ
Bailey intercepted Brees
-- that play seemed to change the season's
fortunes for the Donks from there on... until the playoff loss to the
Colts that is :D

It's a fact that teams get worn out there. Heck they've only lost once
in how many games? But.....this is the best Chargers team in years and
screw the Donkeys! We'll win!

I think Sid Gillman used to fly the team there on Monday so they'd have
the whole week to get acclimated. I know they did that at least once.
Wonder if it helped?

Yeah that was a backbreaker. Up 14-3 at the half, and Brees tries to
throw the out route from his own 5 early in the 3rd quarter. Easiest
TD ever for a DB. Denver's offense did nothing all day, the winning TD
came on a punt return if I recall correctly. Typical of the games San
Diego lost last year (blocked FG return vs. Philly, failing on 4 shots
from the 7 against Dallas, just missing against Pittsburgh, and choking
at home against Miami after handing Indy their first loss). If the
Bolts can win this game, I have to say they'll win the division and be
a major threat to go all the way.

Michael

p.s. sorry to nitpick, but the Broncos got hammered (at home no less)
by the Steelers in the AFC Championship Game last year.

Same here. I go to Denver every once in a while to visit relatives and
the more days you're there the easier it gets to breathe normally. In
fact by the time I'm ready to leave I barely even notice it. But the
first 2 days I'm there I lose my breath just from standing up. It's
ridiculous.

So I'd say if our team can arrive a day or two early then do it. It
really will make a difference.
