With so many "run for the bus" games next week Let's look at how the
"Class of 2003" did this year after 15 games (using QB ratings).....
1. Philip Rivers - 90.5
2. JP Losman - 86.8
3. Eli Manning - 77.4
4. Ben Roethlisberger - 74.0
A bit of a flip flop from years gone by.

It was actually 2004, not 2003.

Those are team achievements. I am talking about individual stats.

Even stats don't tell the whole story. Loseman, for example, was seen
as being a project, i.e. very high on intangibles: confidence,
toughness, bravado, etc. Rothlisberger was seen as being a big, tough
guy with a get into your face attitude. Rivers was the "coaches brat,"
who had basically been playing QB since he was six, and who had a big
game mindset. Manning was, to my thinking unfortunately, expected to be
a carbon copy of his brother. Peyton Manning is a lot like Tony Gwynn,
a guy who studied film every day. Eli Manning is more a system QB who
relies on the people around him, which may simply be a function of his
having been thrown into the mixer the first year.
