I lived through one miserable winter ('71-72) in Jamestown, about 60
miles south of Buffalo. We had "light flurries" forecast on December
11th. On December 12th we got 13" overnight and I got my first taste of
just how nasty weather coming off of Lake Erie can be.
The good news is if it gets crazy, LT right, LT left, LT the middle,
Pinnock spells LT, repeat as necessary with an occasional dump off to
Gates in the flat.
Best, R.E.F.
P.S the day I decided to quit my job with HUD and move back to So Cal
was the day I was walking past the Merchants Bank in Jamestown and
glanced up at the time/temperature sign and it said -25. As I had no
car and everything was "walking distance" I was outside every day to and
from my job, I said "enough."
