The Patriots suffered as bad a loss as they've had in recent memory,
being completely manhandled and falling 21-0 to the Miami Dolphins.
Tom Brady had absolutely no answer to fierce Miami pressure and while
Corey Dillon (16 carries, 79 yards) ran well in spurts, not having
Laurence Maroney (out with a back injury) didn't help his cause. His
numbers were paltry: 12 of 25 passing for 78 yards and a 55.1 passer
rating.
Brady was sacked four times and with the little time he had when he
dropped back, was unable to find anything going on in the way of open
receivers. Turnovers continued to plague New England -- 3 lost fumbles
-- although they had little bearing on the outcome. This was a game
that was decided by Miami's defense and New England's inability on
offense to adjust.

I did a scan of the various NFL websites... ESPN, CBS Sportsline, The
Sporting News, etc. etc. etc.
90%% of the "experts" pick NE, for the subject reason. But :
-- how many times has Phillip been sacked this year ?
-- how many INT's has he thrown ?
I'm going with our kid's decision-making skills. I just don't see
their defense stopping ALL our weapons, over the course of the WHOLE
game.
only the Chargers can beat the Chargers...
c'mon Cam, you can do this
-- tell Marty to STFU and stay out of your
way

It's not on Chargers.com yet, but it is on
http://www.superbowl.com/injuries. This is not as promising as I had
hoped. I'd rather the Chargers not be without both Cesaire and Robinson.

Chargers, punter Scifres a surprisingly happy marriage
By Clark Judge
Look, I don't like hearing about punters, either. Not unless it's
someone named Ray Guy.
But you can't ignore the obvious, and the obvious are the numbers put up
this season by San Diego's Mike Scifres: Of his 69 punts, 35 -- or more
than half -- landed inside the 20; 27 were returned; and only two made
it into the end zone.
Are you kidding me?
I haven't seen a portfolio this astounding since I took a look at the
Yankees payroll. So Scifres isn't among the league's top punters --
they're ranked by gross averages. But look at the guy's net, and it all
begins to make sense.
Not only is it only 3 yards fewer than his gross, it's eighth-best in
the NFL. Where in the name of Ralf Mojsiejenko did the Chargers find
this guy?
Ask general manager A.J. Smith. No, better still, ask his son.

Damn, QB coach-coordinator-head coach would be a pretty good three-year
ascension.
PS- I hope he doesn't get the job, because I'm too young to have an NFL head
coach be the same age as me.

AM1090 reported some people were offering: a 1970 Mercedes; $1200 to
$1600 a ticket; summer home rentals in posh areas; etc.
-- for just ONE
ticket !
Supposedly there have been alot of sales by SD ticket holders...

Tom Brady is 1 and 2 against SD with 2 losses in a row adn the one win
coming only after two lates TDs to take the lead.
Schotty is 7 and 1 against the Patriots.
...just thought it was interesting you here people talking about playoff
records and Brady's records, but no one mentins these (at least not that I
