I imagine that the defense will be mostly unchanged this year with
Lebeau as DC with maybe an occasional 43 wrinkle. We will see a
smaller, quicker rushing DE FA pick-up this and next offseason and
draft, and 43 style LBs as well. Next year, we loose Aaron Smith and 3
of the four starting LB to free agency. The new 43 style replacements
will then take over and we'll get a tampa-2 DC.

If we lost all 4 starting LBs,would anybody notice?Three of them are
over or just at 30.Remember what happened to the early 80s Steelers
when we held on to the veterans too long? The deep six, that's what.

The time is right to consider moving to the 4-3. The entire league is used
to our zone blitz, and teams with the most success these days are getting
pressure from their front four. We ran a 4-3 in the 70's.....and as I
recall....it worked out pretty well.

Just like any business, you must embrace change....or die
