Yeah, I don't know why that particular
writer is so fond of a team that has 11
straight years of late season failures.
Indeed, anything can happen, but until
the Cowboys prove they can actually
win more games than they lose after
Thanksgiving, and can actually win at
least one playoff game, it's difficult
to support the claim that they're the
best in the league.
Dallas Cowboys, 0-6 in last 6 playoffs
Wade Phillips, 0-4 in playoffs
Tony Romo, 0-2 in playoffs
Not much there to support Dallas as
the best in the league.
On the other hand, their defensive secon-
dary should be improved (although Roy
Williams remains a persisting problem)
-but- doubts remain as to Pacman's ability
to stay trouble-free, Felix Jones should
offer more than Julius -but- the return
of Glenn is 50/50 at best and doubts
regarding T.O.'s age / late-season injury
probs + doubts about Crayton (after
last season's playoff collapse) + doubts
about the schedule (this season likely
to end up much more difficult for Dal-
las, having enjoyed the easiest schedule,
by far, in the NFC East last year)
+ the strengths of the AFC (New England,
Indy, San Diego, Pittsburgh)
-and- the strengths of the NFC East (any
team could win the division, in what may
be the toughest division in football)
all add up to Dallas doubtful to be the
best in the league after all is said and
done in 2008.
