Massachusetts native Jeffrey Webb loved the Los Angeles lifestyle. He had a
great job as a law partner in the L.A. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher
LLP, and his life partner, Mark Schuster, was equally happy with his work as
chief of general pediatrics and professor at UCLA. "We both had positions
that were hard to replicate," said Webb, 43.

Even so, Webb and Schuster left the California sunshine in December and
moved to Brookline with their twin sons. It wasn't the promise of enduring a
gloomy Massachusetts winter that beckoned them -- it was the ability to live
in Massachusetts as a legally married couple.

"That was something that was really important to us," said Webb, who married
Schuster in Massachusetts soon after the couple bought a vacation home in
Truro in 2004. Webb has since joined the law firm McDermott, Will & Emery
LLP as a partner in the trial department, and Schuster is now the chief of
general pediatrics and vice chair for health policy research at Children's
Hospital Boston.

Massachusetts Tourism Campaign Features Homosexual Couples

Author: cerner

http://www.citizenlink.org/content/A000006680.cfm

The Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism has unveiled a new campaign,
including its first spots featuring same-sex couples.

The Boston Globe reports the travel office is spending $4.6 million on the
ads, which will begin airing on television and appearing online starting
April 1.

In 2004, Massachusetts became the first state to permit same-sex "marriage."

Jenny Tyree, associate marriage analyst at Focus on the Family Action,
called the ad campaign a "real gamble."

"The Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism is betting that this campaign
will appeal to more families than it will turn away," she said. "It's
unlikely to pay off, since most Americans oppose what they're promoting -
same-sex 'marriage.'"

  08 CTE Award Dinner

Author: Sac D
Date: Mar 8, 2008 09:58

Last night the Raider Nation honored Justin Fargas at the 6th annual CTE
event. For those of you that are interested in this kind of thing, there's
a new gallery of photos in the usual location. I had security detail again
this year, making sure nobody that wasn't on the list was able to sneak into
the green room prior to the dinner. So... since I was there I enjoyed it
as same as the other VIPs. Gotta blend it, right? Anyway, it was nice
chatting with The Honoree, Thomas Howard, Jarod Cooper, coaches Ryan and
Rathman, Mo Bradshaw of course, and many many others, including a quartet of
young ladies in the shiny outfits. Oh, and our gal Amy showed up despite
rumors that she wasn't gonna make it.

I know my pal Mr Roar dinged me recently in here for being kind of a slacker
as far as getting involved in some of the discussions, but as most of you
know I usually try to say a lot more with images...

Re: OT - Air Force Contract

Not quite right Terry - Airbus is jointly owned by France, Germany, Spain
and Britain - it operates from France simply because the tax-breaks are
better there than in the other 3 Countries.

But I take your point. Awarding a contract of that size to a European
consortium when it COULD be done in the States, and risking American jobs,
does seem illogical.
If things were reversed and Britland awarded a big contract to Yankland,
when it COULD be done here, I wouldn't be too pleased.
