And all their effort paid off. Just imagine, defeating the mighty
bruins 75-72 at Pauley Pavilion last night, sparked by Shay Murphy's 7
out of 8 free throws in the final minute of play. Now that's gutsy.

I'm kind of shocked to see that Jeffers is playing today. Wouldn't you
assume that spitting at a fan, regardless of the circumstances, would get a
suspension? What, is Mike Riley running the program now?

After being owned by Lopez (Hawes: 3 of 12 shooting, blocked 3 times),
with ~1:30 remaining Hawes blows two freethrows that would have put UW
ahead. Then in the final possession, he commits a turnover under his
own basket and fouls the shooter giving Stanford a 3-point play and the
win.
Think you're ready for the NBA now Spencer?

"In an ugly incident after the final horn sounded, the Beavers' senior
center Kyle Jeffers was taken into police custody after spitting at an
Arizona fan.
No charges were filed, but Jeffers was heard repeatedly shouting, "Yeah,
that's right, I did it," as he was escorted off the court."

ACC/Big
>11 challenge...
Looking at those matchups and forecasting next year, I think it's pretty
evenly balanced
Favorites: USC, WSU, Cal, Arizona #1, UCLA
Tossups:Arizona #2, Oregon(at KSU under year 2 of Huggins this may be an
underdog next fall), OSU(both teams suck), Stanford #1,
Underdogs:ASU(both teams suck but its on the road), Stanford #2, UW
So I predict 5 favorites, 4 tossups, and 3 underdogs.
Props to both conferences for being organized and making nice after the
chilly football relationship the conferences have.
Thanks
Don
