San Antonio was without key defensive ace Bruce Bowen, who'd never let
Rip get off for 25 plus points.
This being a knuckle bitter and only a win by 4 would have to be noted
as a lost.
Dyss continues to struggle even though he played with some enthusiasm
not shown lately.
He's tired, has been for about 9 games. The addition of Ratliff is a
plus. He can be moved to center and Sheed can return to power forward
with Dyss coming off the bench which is where he is most productive.
Something also to note , Prince when he plays guard has very good games.
He might be considered the relief for Hamilton, while Hayes plays the
small forward position in spurts.

And Bowen was going to guard Prince too so they could not go to that
matchup?
With Ginobli starting instead... well I suppose they could not have held
Bowen to the 9 points Ginobli put up...
Duncan shot 38%% because 'Sheed blocked 3 or them and Dyess one...

You are bitter alright... the only reason it was close was because the
pistons could not hit their 3 pointers.

Maybe a partial asterisk because of Bowen, but what was Detroit
supposed to do, win by 30?
As to McDyess "struggling," he got SEVENTEEN rebounds. -- Joe

BS. Rip has been both ways against Bowen. He's scored on Bowen
before. You have no clue. Look at the Roland Rating for each player.
The main components of the 'Roland Ratings' are a production measure
(a variant of John Hollinger's PER rating) for a player's own stats
versus the counterpart player on the other team while he is on the
court, as well as a simple on court/off court plus minus. This rating
is actually more of a placeholder until the more sophisticated
analysis we produce is made public, but still offers a good fast read
on player performance.
Hamilton is a +3.8. Bowen is -4.9.

Lost what? Spurs are a top defensive team in the league right behind
the Pistons. A 4 point win by either team is what you would expect.
