Sure. He was not handed a playoff team.
He was on rebuilding teams, ...as curry will be...
He took the sonics from when they blew them up mid season in two years to
52 wins and
got them past the first round, Nate made a team out of a poorly mixed
roster... the exact same core team the next season after he took Portlands
offer dropped to 35 wins.
Nate then took over the worst team in the league with the worst chemistry
and worst reputation players and in full rebuilding mode... .
2 seasons later with great chemistry, great work ethic and a team wanting to
be coached... and Nate is much of that... in 3 years they went from 22 wins
to a .500 record including that 13 game win streak with a college age team.
2nd youngest in NBA history. They overacheived from their 25 win perdictions
after Oden was out is putting it mildly. ....
I am really looking forward to the blazers next season and beyond...Roy is
turning into a special player ...oden and rudy Fernandez incoming, the core
role players improving... Another lottery pick to use or trade on a record
that would have been 6th seed in the east... and in a year they can also go
on the FA market as they will be perhaps 2 max contracts under the cap. So
my guess is that lackluster record of Nates will be improving... =)
I thought this was interesting...what coaches do best in plays following
time outs?
