Another TERRIBLE loss:

(1) At home...
(2) Against a team that ABSOLUTELY SHOULD HAVE BEEN BEATEN (no Caron, Jameson
tossed early)
(3) Down the stretch (at home)
(4) After a lead in the last 4 minutes
(5) after a 20 point lead at the end of the first half

Jordan was able to get his team going; Boylan wasn't.

At least now we know that Gooden and Highes (who disappeared in the 2nd half)
are not the saviors.

This team does not respond to any situation - it's unbelievable the total
lack of leadership by ANYONE on this team.

Whether its right or wrong it looks like Pax just traded for bodies
to create competition for pt.
Hughes is going to push the hell out of everyone and somebody is going
to get pushed out of town. Hinrich sat for a good part of the second
half last night which is just fine. With all the bitching about
Wallace and his contract the fact that Hinrich is grossly overpaid
relative to his performance got lost. If Gooden outplays Tyrus then
you gotta think they'll turn the page on him too. Duhon is gone and
Gordon wont be sitting on the bench letting his wrist "heal" anymore.

Boylan's daily quote is "bring your A game or come sit next to me".
I'd rather not be 60 games into the season to arrive at that point but
its better than nothing. This is a mini-rebuild. Pax is changing
the culture again and looking to cull the herd which is the one aspect
of GM-ing I think he's pretty good at.

Larry Hughes -- not so sucky?

I didn't see the game but the box score says he was our best guard
tonight
-- better than Hinrich, Gordon, and Sefolosha.

Pretty damn good bench too -- Gordon, Hughes, Nocioni, Gooden.

How does Cuban talk Van Horn into going to freakin' NJ but Pax can't
get PJ to agree to a sign and trade?? I don't buy the "wanting to be
a champion" thing

Celtics sign veteran P.J. Brown for stretch run
By JIMMY GOLEN, AP Sports Writer 1 hour, 6 minutes ago

BOSTON (AP)--P.J. Brown was at home in New Orleans when Paul Pierce and
Ray Allen came to town for the NBA All-Star game.

"They pulled me aside and asked me if I would be interested in joining
them," he said Wednesday after signing with the Boston Celtics for the
rest of the season. "That probably made the biggest difference of all.
They were down there for one of the biggest moments of their careers.
... That meant a lot to me."

The 6-foot-11 Brown last played for the Chicago Bulls, in 2006-07,
averaging 6.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in 20.2 minutes. He averaged 9.2
points, 7.8 rebounds and 31.4 minutes per game in his 14-year career,
but he has never played a meaningful game in June.

Anyone saw the game last night?

I saw only last few minutes, and i needed some time to figure out who's the
big guy playing for us, since i couldn't read the name on the jersey. It was
Simmons of course :)

It seems to me that our new guys didn't play bad, for their first game for
the new team atleast, but they were outplayed by Wallace and Smith. If i
calculated it good, Wallace and Smith had 33 EFF, while our new trio had 23.

Hughes had 6-11 FG, which would probably make that "heylarryhughesplease.."
guy happy :)

If Gooden hit a few more shots, he'd have quite nice numbers. And Simmons
dunked that ball nice from the pass by..someone..

I would like to hear from someone who watched the game how did it all look
like? Was the chemistry ok?

It was a close game after all i think, it's just that Rockets made those few
threes..

  2010

That's when Lebron and Wade are free agents again, right?

Here's the plan as I see it.

The next two years are for developing a core. 3-4 legit starters and
2-3 legit backups. Some of these guys are already on the roster. Some
will have to be acquire.

Then, in 2010, the Bulls go after James and Wade. The pitch to James
is simple: You want you statue out front some day, next to Jordan's? I
don't think he'll bite though. I think he'll be emotionally
balckmailed into resigning with Cleveland. The pitch to Wade is even
simple: The Heat stink, the Bulls lack everything but a superstart
shooting guard -- are you ready to return home and fulfill your
destiny. I think it will work.

To speculate, I think Noah will be Cambyesque by then. Gooden will
turn out to be surprisingly serviceable whether as a starter or
backup. Noce will be our "microwave" and Deng will be a silky smooth
starter. Hinrich will be the PG and Sefolosha will have developed into
Michael Cooper. The rest of them will be gone. Adding Wade to this
team and they will contend for the finals.

  Coach of the year

It sickens me to see Byron Scott in the running for Coach of the
year. Any chance that the Lakers and Philip can catch NO and pull an
upset in Coach of the Year? They're on a roll and get Bynum back in a
couple weeks. How about Doc Rivers or Flip Saunders? ANYONE but
Scott would be ok with me at this point.

  Trade thoughts.

Well. Wow I guess. I've been bitching about Pax doing nothing for so
long I can hardly complain about this deal so I guess I feel a bit
like I did after Kukoc was traded. Guardedly optimistic.

Im not sure this makes the team a whole lot better though. Suddenly
the frontcourt is thin. I guess Noah will start and Gray will see
more minutes which is fine but I doubt we'll see a HUGE improvement
in production there. Long term it's addition by subtraction though
and finding someone to take Wallace's contract is a major
accomplishment.

Im curious what this means for Thomas. Gooden is fine but not a
stud. Thomas might be good but is currently retarded so does he get
more minutes or does he sit more?? Is this an opportunity for him
or an admission by the team that he's realllly far off??
