Okay, so I go in for a crown today (ugh). The nitrous is taking hold
and the background music starts to kinda blur with the conversation my
dentist is having with his helper but something managed to catch my
ear. . .
She says it cost $100 to fill up her truck the other day. He counters
with "I blame Bush and the Republican Congress. They had plenty of
time to see this coming. . ." Luckily with the help of the nitrous, I
was able to just tune him out rather than get pissy at that point. ;)
Seriously. WTF? This gas price shit comes down with the Dims having
been firmly in control of Congress for quite some time now and it's
STILL the fault of the Republicans!
Funny shit right there, with or without the laughing gas.

Drop the oil part and it sounds like Vietnam.

(The year is 2000. Gas is about $1.50 a gallon. The following exchange
is from the Presidential debate between Bush and Gore.)
Moderator: How would you contrast your approach to preventing future
oil price and supply problems like we have now ...
Bush: [The Clinton Administration] is an administration that's had no
plan. And all of a sudden the results of having no plan have caught up
with America.
(6 years laters, with solid control of both houses and the White
House, gas price had doubled to over $3 per gallon. )
