The surprising 2nd year MLB pitcher Armando Galarraga pitched 8.1
strong innings and didn't give up any runs until the 9th and then Mr.
Jones came in and got the last two outs giving up nothing! Thus the
bullpen was bypassed and the winning combination was starter-closer.

Tigers jumped on Angels starter Joe Saunders early getting 3 in the
first and then added 3 more throughout the game.

Matt Joyce was sent down to Toledo after this game and Clete Thomas
was recalled. Joyce can't seem to hit the breaking ball and Thomas
has a little more speed.
