  McCain's Keating 5 Crooks

Author: Disinfect The WH

When the real dirt on McCain starts flying next September and October, most
people are going to be amazed at the depths to which he sunk in order to
become wealthy and powerful.

MaCain deserves all the ridicule he gets. "Mr. Maverick" took the "deal" in
2000 rather than fight Bush/Rove thus giving us the worse 8 year president
in history. Thanks McAsswipe.

"Keating was more than a constituent to McCain--he was a longtime friend and
associate. McCain met Keating in 1981 at a Navy League dinner in Arizona
where McCain was the speaker. Keating was a former...

Lets see if i understand this:

John McWar is a crook who admits he doesnt know shit about anything and
thinks Bush is right on everything and his claim to fame was being shot down
while bombing peasants in vietnam: so he should be president........

That's the qualifications of John McCain?

An excerpt (below) from an article in Slate...titled...

Is John McCain a Crook? Chris Suellentrop Posted Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at

Yes and lets not forget that good old John was part of the Keating five
(included Neil Bush) who were a bunch of crooks stealing old ladies Arizona
homes in the savings & loan scandals & McCain was also on the take.
Oh gee, I forgot John went on TV and cried that he was new to the senate and
really didn't know what he was doing when he took the money

AP to Hillary: Stop making excuses for losingposted at 9:21 pm on
February 12, 2008 by Bryan
It's rare that a straight political article by the Associated (with
terrorists) Press makes me laugh, but this one did. And that's in
spite of the fact that its upshot is that Obama is looking unstoppable
right now.

Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has found a lot of ways to
explain her string of losses to Sen. Barack Obama.

Caucus states, the former first lady says, are undemocratic and cater
only to party activists. Southern states, like Louisiana, have "a very
strong and very proud African-American electorate" naturally
predisposed to favor a black candidate. And so-called "red" states
like North Dakota, Idaho and Kansas -- all of which Obama won on Super
Tuesday -- will never choose a Democrat in the general election anyway.

By this logic, only certain states really matter, such as New
Hampshire and New Jersey, states that Clinton has won. Or Texas and
Ohio, states she must capture to stay in the race.

  McCain Got $100,000 From Abramoff

McCain Received $100,000 From Firm Of Abramoff Notoriety
On the stump, Sen. John McCain has touted his work tackling the excesses of
the lobbying industry to bolster his reputation as a "maverick" reformer.

"Ask Jack Abramoff if I'm an insider in Washington," McCain often contends.
"You'd probably have to go during visiting hours in the prison, and he'll
tell you and his lobbyist cronies of the change I made there."

But how much change did McCain actually effect? And is he all that removed
from Washington's special interests?

A review of campaign finance filings shows that the Arizona Republican has
accepted more than $100,000 in donations from employees of Greenberg
Traurig, the very firm where Abramoff once reigned.

Those donations include several thousand dollars from registered lobbyists
who represent, or have represented, businesses such as NewsCorp, Rupert
Murdoch's media empire; Spi Spirits, a Cyprus based company that has fought
with the Russian government for the rights to the Stolichnaya vodka brand
name; El Paso Corp, a major energy company; General Motors; and the
Essential Worker Immigration Coalition, a group of businesses and trade
associations "concerned" about the shortage of lesser skilled and unskilled
labor.

Scalia says courts shouldn't prohibit torture
Nick Juliano
Published: Tuesday February 12, 2008

[Zeppnote: I believe any judge who rules in favor of torture should be
subjected to it personally. Especially Scaly. Ten minutes,
controlled situation, medics in attendance -- which is far better than
the victims get. Then they can rule]

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia rejected the notion that US
courts have any control over the actions of American troops at
Guantanamo Bay, argued that torture of terror detainees is not banned
under the US Constitution and insisted that the high court has no
obligation to act as a moral beacon for other nations.

"We don't pretend to be some Western Mullahs who decide what is right
and wrong for the whole world," Scalia told a BBC interviewer Tuesday,
defending narrow interpretation of the reach the US Constitution gives
the nine justices on the country's high court.

Obama makes threepeat out of DC, Maryland, Virginia
John Byrne
Published: Tuesday February 12, 2008

A variety of TV news networks have called the Potomac primaries in
Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC for Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL),
just after polls closed at 7 pm ET and 8 pm ET respectively.

Vote counts at the Virginia State Board of Elections showed a
commanding lead for Obama in the state. WIth about 75%% of the total
votes counted, Obama had around 65%% of the vote.

And just as polls closed at 9:30 pm ET, after inclement weather
prompted a judge to extend time for voting, Obama was also projected
as the winner in Maryland.

Meanwhile, news emerged from the Clinton campaign of another staff
shakeup. Mike Henry, the deputy to recently sidelined Patti Solis
Doyle left the New York senator's campaign. An excerpt of an e-mail he
wrote that was published by Chris Cilizza at the Washington Post
hinted that more changes might be coming at the campaign.
