The credit crisis is no longer just a subprime mortgage problem.
As home prices fall and banks tighten lending standards, people with
good, or prime, credit histories are falling behind on their payments
for home loans, auto loans and credit cards at a quickening pace,
according to industry data and economists.

The rise in prime delinquencies, while less severe than the one in the
subprime market, nonetheless poses a threat to the battered housing
market and weakening economy, which some specialists say is in a
recession or headed for one.

St. Mary's Church in Iowa City will have to contribute $650,000 to
help pay a $37 million settlement between the Davenport Diocese and
people who allegedly were sexually abused by priests, the church told
its parishioners Sunday.

St. Mary's, 302 E. Jefferson St., has been chosen because four
individuals in the suit claim they were sexually abused by Msgr. Carl
Meinberg, a pastor there from 1940 to 1967, according to a church
bulletin posted online.

2003 - Seventh-Day Adventist Pastor Elizaphan Ntakirutimana, 78, and
his son Gerard Ntakirutimana, 45, a doctor, are convicted of genocide
and crimes against humanity in Rwanda by the U.N. International
Criminal Tribunal. The pastor, the first clergyman convicted by the
tribunal, is sentenced to 10 years in prison. His son receives 25
years.

Clergy sex abuse victims and an attorney discussed a new child
molestation lawsuit against a Catholic priest and the
Pensacola-Tallahassee diocese this afternoon in front of the Leon
County Courthouse on Monroe Street.

Fr. Vijaya "Vijay" Godugunuru sexually abused a then 15-year-old girl
twice in June 2006 - once in the Blessed Trinity rectory in Bonifay
and once in the back seat of the girls' parents' van, according to the
Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP).

A former high school drama director is on his way to state prison for
molesting a young boy.

Prosecutors said John Klimkiewicz, formerly of Simpson, deserves the
six to 18 years he will spend in prison. The convicted sex offender
was emotional as he apologized for his crimes but it was the victim's
family who spoke most about the pain he has caused.

Klimkliewicz's lawyer said in court there is another side to this man
as well. He mentioned his community involvement, saying he has been
active with the historical society and with his church.

WESTFIELD -- A judge on Thursday sentenced a former Union Bible
College student to serve probation for a felony charge related to a
sexual encounter he had with a 14-year-old girl on the school's
campus.

James W. McBryant III, 21, of Cicero, pleaded guilty in November to
one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class D felony. He was
originally charged in May 2006 with two additional counts of sexual
misconduct with a minor, both Class C felonies, which have been
dismissed.

NEW YORK - A former Catholic school biology teacher has been sentenced
to 1{ to 4{ years in prison for sexually assaulting five of his
students.

Richard Ali pleaded guilty on Jan. 8 to second-degree rape, two
charges of third-degree rape and two charges of third-degree sexual
abuse involving his former students at Cathedral High School.

The 28-year-old said he assaulted the students between 2005 and 2007
after school hours in his car and at a movie theater. The victims were
all under 17.
