94%% overnight

It was on the news this morning how much the postal service in Chicago
compares to the rest of the country, an ongoing problem. They were
talking about overnight delivery times, claiming the brought them up by
hiring more carriers.

Huh?

They also mentioned some database improvements. I used to have a friend
at AIS but he retired years ago. It was a good organization when he was
there, but I suspect like every other highly critical function, they
were understaffed and failed to keep their good people. When I've had an
issue that needed, er, addressing, I can't find anyone in the office,
always out in the field doing training. It means no one manages the
database.

Anyway, 94%% overnight is claimed to be worse than the rest of the
country. This is a joke. I know that I can never get overnight delivery,
except in the rare instance when a letter doesn't have to go to a second
plant.
