WASHINGTON – Progressive activists who helped elect Barack Obama
president complained on Monday that the administration and congressional
Democrats have been too timid and too willing to compromise.

Even though Obama's major first-term achievement — an overhaul of the
nation's health care system — passed without a single Republican vote,
progressive leaders who gathered in Washington criticized the president
for failing to create a government-run insurance option to compete with
private industry.

  Smoking by Medical Specialty

Author: Bruce Watson
Date: Jun 8, 2010 00:54

Not all studies on US physicians' smoking habits examined their data
by medical specialty. Of those that did, a few interesting and
inconsistent trends were observed. In Massachusetts during 1954 for
example, Snegireff & Lombard [70] reported that the lowest rate of
smoking was among physicians practicing in the field of preventive
medicine or public health (45%%), whereas the highest rate was in
proctology (82%%).
