The price range for this 'Smart Antenna', which far surpasses
traditional rabbit ear set-top antennae by far, appears to be in the $75 -
$100 range depending on indoor vs. outdoor needs. Kirkland is a bad area
for old style rabbit ear set-top antennas, but are pretty darn close. Areas
in line-of-sight, Federal Way & Renton work here, they old guys should work
fine. If existing ones don't work or you're on cable and switching to OTA
(Over The Air) to save money, I'd go with the 'Smart Antenna' after testing
existing old style rabbit ears and finding they are quite up-to-snuff for
the job. The labor-saving from having to futz with rabbit ear would pay for
itself in a month using 'Smart Antenna'.

What OTA Digital TV in the US is all about under the hood...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atsc

Some of you are 'hooked on cable' and may find this information moot.
Please pass it on to friends who may not think it is moot. ::)))
It amounts to at least four dozen research egg points on Second Life.

that last line was a joke.
i have exactly zero idea what Second Life is *really* like...

heh heh

ATSC OTA ROCKS!!!
with a decent antenna and sweet receiver...

I set-up this box on two TVs today using the old style rabbit ears in a
marginal reception location (hills, power lines, aircraft overhead, sparking
fluorescent fixtures on the local AC Mains circuit, et certera and it is the
only thing I've seen in the last 3-5 years that would make me get a TV again
after recycling my last one... seriously!

It was not all that pleasant in marginal signal quality situations.
Compression 'blocky' articfacts and video/audio drop-outs, etc.
But with 'Smart Antenna' I am confident it would be as good or better than
cable.

This set-up pushed the idea of 'needing' to purchase an actual Digital TV
Ready HDTV off by at least 2-3 years as far as I am concerned. HONEST! By
then they will be much higher quality, longer lasting technology, and MUCH
MUCH more affordable. Big Pluses as far as I can see in the long run. YAY!

as per usual real life situations,
YMMV

All those peopal who I hired last week to do me littal things around the
Condo of Solatude showed up ALL AT ONCE today. It was like a three ring
circas around here.

I got some new dining room chairs, had the glass replaced on my patio doors,
and got measured for new vertical blinds. Evarybody was on the "I'll be
there between 11:30 and 2:30" three hour window thing, and they showed up
about 2:00.

I practically needed a doorman to handal the traffic of guys toting big
sheets of glass, vertical blind sampals, and chairs, and then each one of
them having to finish it off with a flourish by having me sign some kind of
clipboard. It looked like that one scene in Brazil where a scad of peopal
are chasing down the big executive for something.

I didn't intend for this to happan this way, because they all told me, oh,
it would be WEEKS for the shit to come in, etc. Hah. Mayhaps the smell of
money incited them to actian.

Well, now I can sit safely and see out the window. Years of exposure to
Cleveland rendared the old glass milky white. Not that there's anything to
see but the Wallie Mark sign and the old folks living in the old folks
living place across the street doing things that old folks do. Which I
should soon start studying very well so I have it down pat when my time
comes to dote. Pretty soon.

Actually, I had thought the steady trickal of peopal ovar the next week or
two would extend my meagar entartainmant. But as luck would have it, it was
all a blur. Now what to do with myself...

[*]
-----

(I've had too much coffee today, BTW)

Having recently read Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion" I have become
convinced that the CoSG is certainly the truest of all the one true
religions.

There's one thing with I simply cannot think myself out of:-
Scientists could never prove that ones mind is not simply stored in a
virtual reality simulator. However well the scientist can document the
parameters of the simulation, that is all they have done. All you can
agree on is that the scientists perceived VR machine behaves apparently
in the same way as yours (as far as you can tell, or prove by the limits
of your intellect).

What lies outside of the VR machine? Maybe nothing, but perhaps
something. But if the "outside" never interacts with the simulation it
can be excluded from the argument - by Occam's razor, it is irrelevant.
The fact that there is no scientific evidence to confirm the existence
of an "outside" doesn't mean that it does not exist. If you could in
fact confirm that the "outside" existed, then would it really be outside?

Wouldn't it be nice to think that intelligent aliens would rescue a
small section of humanity, that was "worth saving". I mean, hell, it's
as plausible as the son of a virgin being re-animated, aint it?
Its perfectly possible that aliens exist and that they're intelligent
and they might "care" about the progress of humanity, to some extent.

Of course things that are "nice to think" are not by any means
necessarily true, but fuck it - If you want to believe in something why
not believe this? It's as plausible as any of the other shit.

What of "Bob"?
You may scoff and say that "Bob" doesn't actually exist as a real person
- but how real are you? Are you more or less real than a character in a
soap opera, for example? More people identify with the soap opera
character than with you, surely?
Why is a requirement that "Bob" is real anyhow?

Perhaps "Bob" is simply a character that:-
a) Realised the Aliens really existed.
b) Realised they could save some people (worth saving) and those people
contain a genetic marker (the so called "yeti" gene).
c) Realised that the world is governed by those that generally are not
worth saving. (The Pinks)
d) Simply having the genetic marker is not enough to guarantee survival!!!

YOU are also now that character, like "Bob"...

Not everyone will be saved and the day is coming soon
=====================================================
Make sure you have sent your $30 to Rev Stang, if you want a seat on
that big silver spacecraft, motherfucker.
Will you deny "Bob" on The Day of X? When you had every opportunity to
be saved?
Don't be a fool.
Repent - SLACK OFF

Thankyou, and goodnight.
--
Rev Anthropod.
