  A Woman's Poem

A Woman's Poem

He didn't like the casserole

And he didn't like my cake.

He said my biscuits were too hard...

Not like his mother used to make.

I didn't perk the coffee right

He didn't like the stew,

I didn't mend his socks

The way his mother used to do.

I pondered for an answer

I was looking for a clue.

Then I turned around and smacked him on the head...

Like his mother used to do.

  Excuses for Missing School

Author: Normandy
Date: May 10, 2008 09:09

[These are actual excuse notes from parents (including
original spelling) from some schools in Texas.]

My son is under a doctor's care and should not take P.E.
today. Please execute him.

Please excuse Gloria from Jim today. She is administrating.

Carlos was absent yesterday because he was playing football.
He was hurt in the growing part.

Megan could not come to school today because she has been
bothered by very close veins.

Please excuse Ray Friday from school. He has very loose
vowels.

Please excuse Mary for being absent yesterday. She was in
bed with gramps.

Please excuse Tommy for being absent yesterday. He had
diarrhea and his boots leak.
