i have a wedding to attend in late April. since the mother of
the bride insists no, i can't weat jeans i need to make
something suitably glam.
i have Vogue 1290 (from 1999) that i think will work.

i'm not crazy about the V neckline, but... i'd be making the
view c dress & the pants (maybe the blouse too, because i get
chilly easily & April in upstate NY can be either pleasantly
warm or freezing...

Dear Lee,

It's a lovely pattern, and the neckline really isn't that low. You
can always raise it by drawing straight up the center front for an
inch or so, and making it higher. Don't forget to adjust the facing
as well.

Try Thai Silks for your fabrics. If you have time, they'll send
swatches so you can see what you're ordering. Fashionfabricsclub.com
has a lot of dupioni, but I don't think I've seen silk velvet there.
Thai Silks will have that, too.
