Hi all.
For those who are interested, the 1994 section of my Sega Genesis
history web site FORS YARD is finally complete. Here's the address for
the site:
http://homepage.mac.com/greggillis
I've just finished uploading the files (and fixing all of the images
that .Mac somehow managed to corrupt... grr!), so let me know if there
are any mistakes/typos/broken links etc.
Thrill to the power of the 32X! Lock-on with Sonic & Knuckles! Kick
yourself for not buying Snatcher when you had the chance :)
Enjoy!

No pushing him to try to crosspost it to to every group possible,
spamming the fuck out of usenet like you do? I am surprised...

Several years back I passed on a new copy of Lightening Force that had
been marked down to $10. Not as collectible as Snatcher, of course, but
at that price I'm not sure what else would have convinced me to get it.
It seems like in the "good old days" there used to be a lot more video
game clearance sales around. I'm not talking about markdowns in places
like EB, either. There used to be one-weekend-only warehouse clearouts
every now and then where there'd be bins full of Sega CD, Genesis and
even Saturn games slashed to clear (and not just crap games either).
Publishers seem to have gotten better at predicting supply and demand
these days, so you don't get piles of excess inventory sitting around
anymore...

Great stuff man, again, you've hit all the highlights and I love the
added commentary from the gaming media. It's wild to go back and hear
how excited they were over the 32X only to turn around and viciously
attack the Saturn at every given opportunity.
Absolutely *cannot wait* for 1995!!!
A few notes, real quick:
Speed Racer never made it to the Genesis, as far as I know, not in the
US, Europe or even dumped beta rom. Same goes for Michael Jordon: Chaos
in the Windy City. :( Wild Snake was only released as a prototype beta
dump. Power Instinct was never released, only a rom was dumped(sadly, as
the conversion was fucking *great*). You are correct, Risk did indeed
make it to the Genesis. Flying Nightwares, you're also correct, it never
did make it to the Sega CD.
Skitchen - They don't ride skateboards, but rather just skates.

Great content, I'll definitely be checking the site in more detail
later. The one issue I have is that the blue quotes are very hard to ...

I've found a lot of "gems" just picking up cheap-ass games. I mean, when
you get something for $4, how can you go wrong? It's happened, sadly,
but more times than not it's turned out for the best.

The best one I can remember was when Sega dropped the Saturn. Man, Best
Buy must have been pissed because they pretty much marked down *every*
Saturn game to $5 or $10 and then all of the accessories for $5 or
less(I got a shitload of stuff for the Netlink that day, some for only
$0.01!).
