I've always sort of wanted a CDX...but the thing is, they're just
pretty...and that's about it. Though a 32X can be hooked up, it's quite
the odd sight. Still, for those who enjoy a compact system, this would
be the way to go.

The Genesis/SCD/32X combo is probably the best, imo. The Genesis
2/SCD2/32X isn't bad, but I don't like how wide it is. The X'eye/32X
setup is pretty hip, but sadly the 32X cover its CD lid, so you have to
take it off every time you want to play a CD game.

Try ebay, they are dirt cheap there...even some of the best titles can
be had for less than $5. Just out of curiosity, what's the one game you
have for the 32X?

Oh Christ, that's right. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't base your opinion
of the 32X off that game. It's dull, both graphically and gameplay-wise.
Try something like MK2, Shadow Squadron or Knuckles Chaotix. All good stuff.

Briefly. My girlfriend has been playing that Pirates game on the Xbox,
and it definitely brings back a lot of memories, so I am hankering to
get down to it.

Actually, I prefer my CD-X for playing on real Sega Genesis hardware
-- it's nice and portable and works with practically every Genesis/MD
piece add on hardware -- Unlike the Nomad, Mega Jet, and Genesis 3
(None of which work with the PBC or 32-x, or have a port to attach the
CD).
So far it plays:
Genesis/Megadrive (both NTSC and the two PAL variants -- and I've only
found 1 PAL game that doesn't work)
SMS (using a modified PBC 1 or the euro PBC 2 -- there's one or two
SMS games that do not work on this)
Mark III and SG-1000 (using the rather rare Mega Converter)
Sega CD/Mega CD
32-X
Pico (Pico games should be bootable using a RAM card or EPROM emulator
though I haven't personally tried this)
The only things it can't do is Mega LD (only on the Pioneer
Laseractive) and Game Gear (It's rumored that an adapter to play GG on
Genesis was in development)

Johnny Blaze, Spirits of Vengeance   Actually I found 36 great holes
to be a fairly good golf game. True It's not anywhere up there with
Tiger Woods, or PGA Golf, but it's better than any Tee Off golf game
I,ve played, or any of those cutsie golf games they have out. I'm not
into fighting hand to hand games. Shadow Squadron looks interesting. I
have a few Space Sim/Shooters on different consoles. I went to diget
press and looked up the selection of 32x games. Sadly there is'nt a
whole lot to choose from. I would definitly be interested in After
Burner, Blackthorne, Dune , Motocross Championship ,Pittfall , and one
I'll never be able to find. Spider-Man : Web of Fire. I know you have ...

Well, I can definitely understand that. In terms of portables, other
than some sort of laptop, the CDX is definitely the best.

I'd assume it doesn't have anything extra going on here, and that like
the Genesis 1 and 2, it'll play any given import that's not specifically
region coded.

You ought to give Hot Shots a try, if you have a PS1. It's cutesy, true
enough, but man the gameplay is *great*.

This was due to some internal fighting with SoA and SoJ: SoA wanted to
keep going on with the Genesis for another full year while the Saturn
was being released in Japan, but after Sega saw the PS1, they flipped
out and rushed the Saturn to the market, thus killing the 32X.
