Learning a language can only be done in one wa
-- keep using the language
and it will get easier and smoother with time.

I took French for years but was never really fluent until I got myself a
French girlfriend.

I don't think that can hurt but speaking a language is different from
writing it.

Yes, by now I'm only reading (quite a lot), listening and rarely writing.
Speaking never :-(

Yep, this is the only thing I'll can do. The con is that here one of my best
weapons was exactly talking. You cannot see that I'm a very good
conversationalist in Italian. It happened that a bad first impression was
reversed by my talking...
But on the other side I've no other choice than body language and non verbal
stuff.... Oh, however my spoken english seems to be very amusing. Often my
broker laughs listening to me :-))

Thanks Alex for your appreciated input

A couple of recent ones to consider: Wedding Crashers and Hitch. They
do have their errors though... which can often make them more laughable
to watch than educating. But interesting to watch nonetheless.
