You're right, which is partly why I still value performance over
appearance, even though I've conceded that the best I'll likely
achieve is appearance, mainly.
It's an artificial distinction in some ways, since usually one looks
as well as one can perform...but maybe I'm just lazy, then (not as
interested in investing the amount of dedication required)....
Ironmen triathletes are are cool...they should have powerlifting/
weightlifting events, though, to round things out...aerobic capacity
and muscular endurance are key, but all-out strength and speed is also
important...I wonder if it is actually possible to have a meaningful
contest which included all such events, since athleticism is
bifurcated into "strength" and "endurance"....
