I have already presented the time frame for several historical high
level societies in Africa over the period of time that TET mentions
and I ignored East Africa. The information on African History is
available and even with your IQ being 4 points lower than average
(your white and your racist and the studies say you ain't to bright)
you should be able to find some of it. Of some special importance is
the effect of the slave trade on Africa in the 17th and 18th Centuries
and the sociological factors that came into play. You will need to
pay attention to how non-state based societies were vulnerable to
state based colonizing societies. Given the structural differences in
societies and the different development in the underlying human
relationships which were the foundations for each, the results for
Africa logically follow. Genetics doesn't play a role.

While European where trying to figure out how to do math with Roman
Numerals, they had developed Algebra and were using the concept of
zero in Northern Africa. They also had made advances in medicine,
astronomy and architecture. This was the reason that the best
educated Europeans went to Africa to study and returned to Europe - to
enlighten them. Also, the concept of universities waw developed there
and have carried through to the present. In Spain, Muslim's
revolutionized agriculture in Granada with new irrigation techniques
brought over from Northern Africa and the introduction of crops
appropriate to the climate.

As far as taking two or three generations to recover from a decline in
education, which you mention in another post, you have several hundred
years where Europe didn't recover at all. If you look at the what
happened in Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire (circa 476),
everything was due to what society degenerated to and had nothing to
do with the intelligence of the Europeans. They didn't become
instantly stupid, but the remained pretty damned ignorant for 1,000
years. By the way, if you think that Africa was where the impact of
state based societies on non-state based societies is the only place
it shows up, you'd be wrong. You can look at the rise of the
essentially modern state and the effects it had in Europe between 1500
& 1700. It's also interesting to look at the the end of The Holy
Roman Empire and the influences which kept Germany from becoming a
state until the 1800's. The Byzantine Empire, which was not white
European, managed to carry on for 1,000 years after the fall of the
the Roman Empire.
