Looking for RECOMMENDATIONS on audio/video equipment to record in
field progress??

Any wireless security camera that is small and bettery operated and
provides audio should work. You can get these on the cheap (around
$200) from big-box electronics stores and from security firms. Mail
order is also great. Consider going with an infrared cam that provides
light.

The receiver end of this should go to a vcr, dvr, laptop, etc. inside
the trunk of your car if you can park nearby.

I've also had luck with pluging the receiver into a camcorder's
video-in inside my duffel bag. A camcorder is, afterall, basically a
battery powered vcr.

I haven't used this setup to record any pickups yet, but I have used
it to record Jackass style pranks (mostly trying to order a Bigmac
from Subway or trying to get Mario Kart for the Playstation 3 at
Walmart)
