Google Loses in Belgium
Google News loses case for breach of copyright laws in Belgium, without even
knowing it was sued.
September 18, 2006
Google said Monday it had received no word for nearly two weeks on a
judgment against it in Belgium.
A Brussels court ruled on September 5 that the Mountain View, California,
search king was in breach of copyright and ancillary laws and must remove
all articles from the Belgian publishing group CopiePresse from the Belgian
Google News site.

Copyright issues affect information distribution and archiving on the
