No, the primary reason for the creation of fastseduction.com was to
prevent certain trolls from posting there.

And it's worked very well in that regard. Many times trolls would post a
response to something they read over in fastseduction.com HERE (without
referencing the original post for obvious legal reasons), because they
couldn't post anywhere else.

The fact is that a Usenet group's content is only as good as the people
who post in that group. People who complain about the content are the
very people who can actually provide that content here if they so
choose. If you're looking for on-topic threads about seduction, there
are actually plenty in this newsgroup, but you'll have to go back in the
archives to read them.

In many regards, what has happened in this newsgroup is indicative of
the poor quality direct response marketing that Usenet actually is.

This newsgroup was originally formed to discuss Ross Jeffries' work, but
after a while, Ross realized that more time would be spent dealing with
trolls than discussing material with present and potential students. So
he created a private, moderated email newsgroup.

After that happened, alt.seduction.fast underwent a transitional period
where those who were loyal to the idea of the newsgroup being about
Ross' products were met head-on with others who demanded a more neutral
forum. Historical inevitability was in the "neutral" camp. It is during
this transition period that some of the best seduction threads
(content-wise) can be found.

But even during this transitional period, there were inevitable trolls
who were determined to interject something negative into every thread
and disrupt the conversation. Sometimes these trolls claimed to offer
"competing" products to the generally established "canon" of products
accepted by regular members of the group.

The first attempted step to remove trolls was to establish and create a
kill-filter list that would remove posts from trolls. However, trolls
frequently changed their screennames to circumvent these lists, so that
proved unsuccessful.

The second attempt to remove trolls was to provide a place--a new Usenet
group--for the trolls to do what they were claiming to want to do:
discuss their own products and methods without having to deal with
constant debates. This, too, proved unsuccessful as the trolls
inevitably would return to the original group.

The third attempt to remove trolls was far more successful: the creation
of private, moderated forums and private news servers accessible by nntp
readers. Both were successful, but the private nntp server turned out to
be the most popular of the two approaches. Most people found that adding
the new server was simple, easy, and convenient. There was no clunky web
interface to deal with. You used the same nntp reader you used to read
uASF. And the moderation removed any of the undesirable trolls from the
discussion, leaving them to fume and leading some of them to file
ineffective (and ultimately dismissed) lawsuits.

New products were reluctantly accepted into the "canon" after lengthy
field-testing and proof of success. A high degree of skepticism
accompanies almost any new product. Mystery, Double Your Dating, GM ...
all these methods had critics and skeptics before being proven in the
field.

Well, if you want to jumpstart the process for having a moderated group
on Usenet, go ahead and try to form it. I'll even sign on as a moderator
if one needs to be nominated.

After this group did headstands and backflips to get Mr. Parker his own
alt. newgroup (alt.seduction.outfoxing) and Mr. Parker violated his
agreement to stay there and not post here, any idea of going back to try
to form another group was put to rest.

That doesn't mean that others can't try to form another alt. group. In
fact, you might discover that it becomes more popular than mASF.

But having a private, moderated newsfeed that could be accessed through
any nntp reader was a lot easier and faster to accomplish. And despite
our precious lawn gnome's attempt to get rid of it, it's more successful
than anyone could have ever imagined.

So, you can stay out here in the wild wild west with us cowboys, or you
can move to Dallas where it's a little more civilized.
