new owrk? Isn't that the city in New Jersey where one of metro NYC's
airports is?

I also hope Mr. Parker hires a proofreader and editor for his new book.
When his 1998 book was published, it had so many typos and errors that
Mr. Parker had to recall the book. Then he removed 1/6 of the book's
content, and had to admit that there were STILL errors in the book.

It was a worse situation for Mr. Parker than he realized, because he
told people the reason for the delay of the publication of the book was
that he was spending so much time working on it and tweaking it so it
would be a completely error-free product, both in content and in
language. He bragged about the word count as if that were some
objective guideline to content, then had to remove 1/6 of the book's
content because of errors.

Mr. Parker also claimed to be working with a number of publishers
regarding his 1998 book, and then when the book was released, it was
disappointingly tape-bound using Kinko's tape-binding system, which is
notorious for using weak and unevenly applied glue so pages tend to
fall out easily. The second, dramatically altered edition, was
comb-bound using generic combs with no spine label--a sign of the
amateur or semi-pro self-publisher.

If he'd reduced the size to 8.5x5.5 and had the book saddle-stitched or
better yet, smyth-sewn, it would have had a far more professional
appearance.

Mr. Parker's "publishing group" is not registered with R. R. Bowker, so
it's not recognized in the industry as a true commercial publisher, nor
are his book titles listed in "Books in Print." If you are a new
publisher, you should apply for your own ISBN publisher prefix and plan
to identify and circulate your books properly in the industry supply
chain. Mr. Parker did not do that. His books have neither ISBN numbers
or UPC numbers, yet he thought that the book would be a New York Times
bestseller within weeks or months, and that he would be interviewed by
no less than Oprah Winfrey. He later admitted that the recall of the
first edition of his 1998 book amounted to less than 10 copies
replaced. Yes, his presales figures were under one dozen, yet Mr.
Parker insisted that his book would sell millions of copies.

Given how drastically his typing skills have deteriorated, I hold no
hope for any semblance of quality for this "new" book.
